What is Psychosocial Recovery Coaching?
Like Support Coordination, Psychosocial Recovery Coaching (PRC) is a Capacity Building Support that helps you to understand and use your NDIS funding but has more of a focus on Mental Health and provides more of a holistic, collective approach.
You can read more about the NDIS description here.
What is the difference, though?
Personally, the approach that we take under Support Coordination reflects a lot of the same principles and practices that are offered under Psychosocial Recovery Coaching. We don’t always do this consciously, either.
We will always offer to collaborate with your providers and supports to ensure all parties are on the same page with the same goals around ensuring you receive the best care.
Where applicable, we’ll also coordinate with your informal supports (family, friends, carers) - whatever that might look like for you.
We have boundaries, but we are also able to utilise lived experience to relate, so you feel understood - we are able to model an example of recovery (but also fully disclaiming that we too, fluctuate daily and have our own Care Teams and supports, as well. And that’s okay).
Together, we work to help you regain a sense of purpose and hope in your life. We work at your pace and will always place your needs at the forefront.
You don’t have to choose Psychosocial Recovery Coaching over Support Coordination - they come from the same funding pool. The difference comes down to the amount of funding / hours you are given, and what you have been approved for within your plan.
If you have been allocated Psychosocial Recovery Coaching funding, and you’d like to get on board - pop over and complete this form and we’ll be in touch!
